“I can’t believe this. I can’t remember anything I did in Singapore” Damian said, massaging his forehead while on the hospital bed.
“That’s because you are suffering from a temporary amnesia, sir. If only you had taken me with you, I would have been there to protect you” Greg told him, standing by his bedside.
“There must have been a reason why I chose not to take you and I can’t even remember the reason now. Did the doctor say I will get better?” Damian ask.
“He mention something about it. Since it’s temporary your missing memory will definitely return, you only have to give yourself time”
“Fine. What about my mom?”
“She was here a while ago, she went to the cafeteria to get something to eat with your sisters” Greg inform.
“Get some rest sir, I will be here watching over you” Greg added and when he saw Damian closing his eyes, he pull out his phone and send a message to June.
June who was at the hospital lobby when Greg’s message pop on her screen.
She has been getting cold feet ever since Greg told her she will begin her deceit that day.
She had been tempted to leave but the thought of Wayne still being in their clutches got her taking the elevator to the fourth floor where VIP patients are kept.
The plan is to tell him about her being his wife and ask for a divorce which Greg will be giving her a fake form, a form which will transfer all of Damian asset to Greg once he sign on it but she has to make Damian believe that it’s a divorce form.
“You can do this June” she said to herself as she took out the eyedrop to put in her eyes.
She got to Damian ward and knock, it was Greg who open the door and he let her in, giving her a knowing look.
Just as she rehearsed, June stood looking at Damian Brooks, her fake tears slipping down her face.
Damian was still wondering who was at the door, slowly open his eyes to see a girl looking at him and…she was crying.
He sat up to take a better view of the beautiful stranger when she ran towards him, engulfing him in a hug.
“I…I thought I lost you. I thought you died and that’s why I flew all the way from Singapore to see you, am glad you are okay” June lied through her teeth, hating herself for deceiving him.
Damian is still in a state of shock when she pull back to stare at him and lightly touch her nose to his before giving him a kiss on the forehead.
“Just who the hell are you? And what are you trying to do to Mr Brooks?” Greg demanded from behind, pretending not to know.
Damian watch as she took hold of his one good hand since the other was injured during the accident.
“Am not trying to do anything to him, how can I…when I’m his wife” June announce startling Damian…..
