Adam turned to Madam Zoe, his voice cold and unforgiving. “If Becky’s parents and Becky herself forgive Ricky, he will be released from custody. But until then, he will face the consequences of his actions.”
Madam Zoe’s face crumpled, her pleas for mercy falling on deaf ears.
As Madam Zoe watched Ricky being taken away, a sense of helplessness washed over her. Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts and fears, but she knew there was little she could do for now.
Two Days Later
The Shaw family living room was filled with tension as Becky, her parents, Madam Zoe, Rocky, and Ricky all gathered.
Becky’s face was pale and somber, and she couldn’t bring herself to look at Ricky. Her parents stood behind her, their expressions cold and hard.
Madam Zoe was the first to speak. “Becky, please, you have to tell them the truth. You know Ricky is innocent.”
Becky’s eyes flickered to her parents, her face a mask of uncertainty.
Mr. Shaw’s voice boomed, his face reddening with anger.
“I made a deal, and Ricky will fulfill it, or else!” He turned his wrathful gaze towards Madam Zoe. “And you, meddling in our affairs. How dare you encourage Becky to utter such lies? I only released Ricky because Becky and you pleaded with me. I made my decision, and now Ricky and Becky will be betrothed and engaged. Right now!”
Madam Zoeβs and Ricky’s eyes widened in shock.
Ricky’s face hardened as he spoke, his voice growing louder with each word.
“What? How can I get engaged to someone I don’t even love? And at 17 years old, no less! This is madness.”
Mr. Adam turned to face Ricky, his jaw clenched in anger.
“Shut up, boy. You thought it was alright to take advantage of Becky, didnβt you? Well, you didn’t think of the consequences.”
Ricky’s eyes flashed with defiance, his voice low and steady. “I didn’t do anything.
“Whether you did or didn’t, it doesnβt matter anymore,” Mr. Adam replied, his voice thick with rage. “You will pay for your transgressions, and the only way for you to make amends is to marry Becky. End of discussion.”
Are you really my dad, you are such a disgrace to fatherhood. Ricky yelled at him
Mrs. Shawβs voice thundered through the room, as she suddenly interfere.
βRicky, you either get betrothed to Becky or you go back to prison. And believe me, Iβll make sure you rot in there.”
Patricia and Rocky exchanged smug grins, enjoying the show. Rocky leaned over to Patricia, his voice low.
“Heβs finally getting what he deserves.”
Madam Zoe, on the other hand, seemed on the verge of tears.
Ricky glared back at Mrs. Shaw, his fists clenched.
As the room fell silent, Ricky felt his resistance crumble. He was at the end of his rope, tears threatening to spill from his eyes as he clenched his fists, the knuckles turning white. In that moment, he knew there was no other way. If he wanted to prove his innocence, he needed time, and that time could not be spent in prison.
In a defeated voice, he spoke. “Fine. I’ll do it. Iβll get betrothed to Becky.”
Becky’s face softened, a satisfied smile playing on her lips.
Rocky and Patriciaβs plans had been foiled, and they werenβt happy about it. They were shocked that Ricky had agreed to get betrothed to Becky, not wanting him to be free or innocent. Rocky was visibly upset, mumbling,
βHe wonβt get away with this.”
Patriciaβs expression turned sour and angry, her face showing her disappointment.
Madam Zoe, on the other hand, understood Rickyβs decision and seemed to support it, though she was still surprised by the sudden turn of events.
Mr. Shaw turned to his wife, his voice booming in the quiet room. “Patricia, fetch the rings. Theyβre getting engaged right here, right now.” He cast his gaze at Ricky and Becky, his tone brooking no argument. βYou will get married when you are old enough.”
Ricky rolled his eyes, a silent expression of his disbelief at the situation. He mumbled under his breath, barely audible to anyone else in the room. βWhat a crazy family.β
Mr. Shaw ordered Ricky and Becky to stand near each other. The family watched closely. Becky smiled brightly, showing her happiness. Ricky didnβt smile. He put the ring on her finger, touching her hand for a moment. Beckyβs smile got bigger.
The engagement ceremony was complete. Becky’s parents beamed with pride, while Rocky and Patricia’s faces showed their disappointment. Mr. Shaw addressed Ricky and Becky.
“Now that the engagement is sealed, I expect both of you to behave . You will not see each other until the wedding day. I will not have my daughterβs virtue called into question.”
Ricky looked away, eager to be free of this drama, but Beckyβs gaze lingered on him, her smile still lingering on her face.
As soon as Ricky was allowed, he made a quick exit from the house, eager to put as much distance as possible between himself and the Shaw family.
Madam Zoe, noticing Ricky’s haste, called out his name and followed him. “Ricky, slow down! Are you alright?” she asked with concern.
Ricky stopped, a wave of frustration washing over him. “What do you think? Iβm getting forced into a marriage, and I didnβt even do anything wrong. My life is over, isnβt it?”
Madam Zoe placed a comforting hand on Rickyβs shoulder, her voice gentle and reassuring. βNo, Ricky, your life is not over. I know you didnβt do anything wrong. I understand why you agreed to the engagement. We will prove your innocence, okay? Everything will be alright.β
Ricky let out a sigh, his body slumping in relief at Madam Zoeβs words. He hugged her tightly, a few tears slipping from his eyes as he muttered, βThank you. Thank you so much.β
END OF FLASHBACK
“Wow, you have really gone through a lot bro. Jayden said almost in tears”.
Hey dude , don’t cry.. Ricky said with a sad smile.
” I have not been able to prove my innocence, but I will prove it, I’m sure”.
” I will help you bro, I will surely help you. Jayden said with a smile
The moment Rocky entered his room, fury blazed in his eyes. He slammed the door shut and stormed across the room, fuming as he muttered, “How dare he hit me? How dare he? He will pay for this. I will not let that love story between Ricky and Daisy start, no matter what it takes.”
He paced back and forth, his fingers curling into tight fists as his mind raced with schemes and plans to ensure that his will would prevail.
Rockyβs scowl melted into a self-satisfied smirk. He knew exactly what to do to make sure Ricky wouldnβt have any love life with Daisy.
He reached for his phone, dialing his motherβs number with an almost gleeful sense of purpose. The phone rang for only a few seconds before Patriciaβs voice answered.
βRocky? What is it, dear?β she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
“We need to use Becky again, Mom,” Rocky stated with a hint of urgency. “I think Ricky is starting to like a girl here, and I want that girl too. In order to get her, we have to convince Mr. Shaw to let Becky attend Melody High. If she’s here, she can help us keep Ricky away from his love interest. We’ll make sure our plan succeeds this time.”
Patricia let out a low chuckle, her mind already racing with ideas. “You always know just how to work things to your advantage, Rocky. You’re just like me. I’ll talk to Mr shaw.
Patricia’s smile widened as she contemplated their next move. βMr. Shaw wonβt be easy to convince, but with Becky as our pawn, weβll be able to play our cards right and ensure Rickyβs attention stays focused on her, not his new love interest. If we do this right, heβll be so distracted by Becky that the other girl wonβt even be on his radar.”
Rocky’s eyes gleamed with excitement, eager to set their plan in motion. βMom, this is going to work, I can feel it.
Patricia’s gaze hardened with determination. “Becky will be there in four days. Trust me, Iβll make sure of it,” she promised, before ending the call.
Rocky, still grinning, pocketed his phone. “Four days,” he murmured to himself. “Thatβs plenty of time to make sure Ricky is right where we want him. Everything is going to work out perfectly.” His devious smirk grew wider as he is thinking of the impending chaos that would unfold.
4 DAYS LATER
Daisy, adorned in a stunning purple short gown, gracefully moved through the school hallways, humming to herself as she flipped through the pages of her songbook, completely engrossed in its contents.
Lost in thought, Daisy failed to notice the figure in front of her, and suddenly, with a small gasp, she bumped into none other than Ricky. Their eyes met, and for a moment, the world seemed to stand still. The electricity between them was something else and she love the feeling.
Daisy’s face instantly change as she realized who she had bumped into. Her first instinct was to turn and flee, desperate to avoid the uncomfortable tension that hung in the air. “Oh, sorry! I… I didn’t mean to…” she stammered, her voice catching in her throat as she fought the urge to turn and run.
Rickyβs heart skipped a beat as he watched Daisyβs face turn red with embarrassment. He knew exactly why she was acting this way. it had been four days since their kiss, and Daisy had done her best to avoid him ever since. Still, Ricky couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her, his heart flutter.
As Daisy was about to turn and rush away, her cheeks blazing with embarrassment, Ricky gently grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him, bringing their bodies so close to eachother. Daisy’s heart thumped wildly as Ricky looked deeply into her eyes, his expression a mix of intensity and yearning.
“Please stop avoiding me, Teddy,” he said, using her nickname for her. “I miss you.”
Daisy’s throat went dry, and all she could manage was a weak, “Wh…why?” Her voice shaking slightly as she struggled to maintain her composure.
Ricky, his eyes still locked on Daisy, said, “So youβre really avoiding me, Teddy. You didnβt even ask me about your phone.” His tone carried a hint of hurt, but also determination to resolve the matter.
Daisyβs eyes dropped to the floor, her heart racing as she struggled to find the right words. Finally, in a small, hesitant voice, she managed to whisper, “I… I know it’s with you.”
Ricky, his voice now pleading, looked straight into Daisy’s eyes. “Please, Teddy, stop avoiding me. It hurts.”
Daisy’s heart was racing as she processed his words. She missed him too and couldn’t understand why she felt this way around him. Was it love? Before she could respond, however, an angry voice boomed from behind them, making the two into turning around.
“what the f*ck is going in here” the person snapped
Ricky is shocked to see Becky standing behind them with rocky beside her.
“Be… cky.” he muttered
“I said what the f*ck is going on here” Becky yelled again
