Glenn hugged her tightly
“Emmy please don’t cry anymore, I know how much it’ll be hurting right now but… just…stop crying I beg you, it hurts to see you like this” she said, patting her back

She broke the hug and wiped the tears from her face

Raymond barged into his house and Immediately grabbed a bottle of vodka from his cellar
He paced around the living room as he opened it and gulped it down his throat
He took it off his mouth and held his head
The migraine is trying hard to come but he’s trying hard to avoid that

Classy clubhouse**
“Glenn I love you!!!!” Emery shouted at the top of her voice
She’s sitting on a stool beside the bar stand, obviously drunk with a bottle of alcohol in front of her
Glenn is sitting beside her, watching her as she displays
“This is not the best decision but what can I possibly do?, I can’t watch you cry all night” she thought
” Glenn how are you?” She said , rolling her eyes drunkenly
” I’m fine girlfriend” she replied, playing along
” Of course you’re fine… and I love you a lot!” She screamed again, taking another gulp from the bottle
“Wait .. all guys are like Jerry right?” She suddenly said
“No, Jerry is just a jerk and you know what?, Once or twice in our lives, we meet jerks who makes us feel like leaving the world but you know giving up is not the best of ideas” Glenn replied
” Oh, is that so?, But why do I have to meet a jerk like that as my first love?” She said, taking another gulp
” Maybe that’s how it’s destined to be..but it’s cool, at least you’ll be able to focus on the bigger goals” Glenn replied with a smile
Emery brought her face closer
“Bigger goals?, What’s that?” She said, narrowing her brows
“You’ll get to know Emmy, now I think you’ve drank enough, time to go home” Glenn said and tried to take the bottle from her but Emery held tight, not ready to let go
“No girlfriend, you don’t do that, no one works that way…I need to finish this baby… trust me I must finish it…I really must see the end of it” she said and stood
She poured the remaining alcohol in the bottle down her throat in one gulp before throwing the bottle on the ground
It crashed into bits
She laughed loudly
“Now Jerry, It’s you I just crashed, bye cheater!” She said and started going down, Glenn quickly caught her
Her long hair is covering her face
She slept off immediately
“How pitiful, but it’s better than seeing you cry all night” Glenn said before taking her out of the clubhouse
She waved down a cab which took them home
She took her in and lay her on the bed before covering her well with the duvet
She sighed, looking at her pitiful self
“I’m sorry Emmy” she said, sleeping beside her..
Next morning (Monday)
Raymond didn’t sleep a wink last night, it’s the disturbing migraine throughout
He cried a lot and almost thought he won’t make it alive this morning
Like his head has been taken away from his neck
It was so painful
But it went down this morning though he can still feel slight headache
He feels hanged over as a result of the vodka he had last night
He ordered his maids to make something to cure his hangover
He entered the bathroom and had a slow bath, spending almost an hour in the jacuzzi
His eyes caught the ring on his finger and his mind remembered Emery
Surprisingly he smiled, maybe that’s how much the feelings has grown
He kissed the ring this time around and found the strength to stand up from the jacuzzi after rinsing up
He left the bathroom and put on something covering in the room
A sweatshirt, a white shirt then a pullover on top of it
It’s a cold morning and with the look of things, maybe he won’t be able to go to work
“But that’s the only place I’ll get to see her…I really want to see her badly” he thought as he sat in front of the mirror
His lips is all dried up and pale even at the fact that he bathed a while ago
He rubbed his finger on his lips and that made him remember Emery, doing the lips thing again
He smiled widely and rubbed lip balm on his lips before going downstairs
“It’s ready sir” one of the maids said, gesturing at the dinning table
He went there and met custard and herbal tea
“You could have made only herbal tea” he said, facing the two maids
“We’re sorry sir” they bowed
“It’s ok” he said, taking the herbal tea
He lifted it to his mouth and is about to drink when the headache gripped him again
The cup fell from his hand and he held his head with an hand
“My head” he whimpered
Tears came out of his eyes as the memories of his dad’s death flashed through his memory again
He closed his eyes and that only made the headache more splitting
His maids rushed to him
“Boss, should we get you to the hospital?, Boss!”
” No, I’m ok…fuck!” He said in pains , standing up, still holding his head
“Boss…
” I can manage…I’m really ok” he said in obvious pains, going upstairs
He managed to get to his room and fell heavily on the bed, unable to move an inch anymore, just getting predated upon by the migraine …
“I’m doomed!, It’s past eight already!, My life!” Emery screamed immediately she saw the time after waking up
Glenn is not beside her anymore
“Glenn!, Glenn!” She called but got no answer
Then she saw a note on the bedstand
She took it and read
Emmy I’m off to work, you can take today off.. I’ll just tell your boss that you’re sick… I made veggie lasagna, take a bite ok?, I love you, see you in the evening
“No I can’t, boss might punish me again and I can’t take that,I must go to work even if he scolds me for lateness” she thought, standing up from the bed
Her phone beeped immediately
She picked it from the stand, it’s a message from Glenn
You might want to be obstinate and still want to come to work but chill dear, your boss is absent from work today so you’re covered
“Even at that, I’m fine now, I can still go to work” she said and made to enter the bathroom but her eyes caught her worn out shoes, the one she wears before Glenn gave her more shoes
One of the reasons she hadn’t thrown it out is because it’s the only thing she got from Jerry
But now he’s gone
She hardened her facial expression and walked briskly to where it is
She grabbed the shoes and threw it out through the window
“It should better land in a river, fuck Jerry” she said before entering the bathroom…
Emery got to work and peeped at the office to make sure Raymond didn’t eventually come
That confirmed, she went in and peeped at his office
He’s really not here” she thought
She sat on her seat and inhaled hard, thinking hard about him

She opened her laptop and started work earnestly

She set appointments for him and cancelled all his appointments for today…
In two hours, she’s done
She stretched herself and yawned lightly
“I’m hungry” she said
Then her mind drifted to the day Raymond bought her lunch
She smiled and stood
She entered his office..
She slightly closed the door and entered fully

How she ate there and how he told her to avoid Rick
She touched his laptop and smiled
“I wonder why he’s not here” she thought
She went out and picking her phone, she dialled his number but he’s not picking after various trials
She dropped her phone , looking worried
“Is he ok?” She wondered
Glenn entered the office immediately
“I knew it!, You’ll come, you’re nothing but a workaholic” she said with a glare
Emery laughed
” I know right?, I just can’t ignore” she replied
“Did you eat?”
“No” Emery replied
“Then let’s go eat” she said, pulling her up..
” Wait …. Your boss… ” Emery said
” He left work early, and he was somehow restless, maybe a rift occurred between the brothers” Glenn said
” I’m worried about Raymond” Emery said and her eyes widened
She covered her mouth
“No no.. I mean boss” she said quickly
Glenn smiled
” Don’t worry about that, that’ll soon be the case anyways” she said, taking her out
Past seven… Night
Raymond rolled from one side of his bed to another
He has been like that since morning
The headache is gone but he’s damn tired to even lift a finger
Even when his phone was ringing
He has no strength to pick
He inhaled hard
“I don’t want to die yet, I still have a lot to say to someone” he whispered
He gathered strength and took his phone from the stand
He has ten missed calls from “proficient secretary”

“Damn” he muttered and dialled her number
She picked at the first ring
“Boss!, I’ve been worried, you’ve not been picking your calls and not replying your texts, are you ok boss?” She said at a time
” Emery…. can you please come over?, I’m weak , I think I need someone to stand by me” he said weakly
“I knew it, your address sir” she said quickly
“FIL’s close… mansion 11” he replied
She hung up Immediately..
Emery got to the address and her eyes widened
“It’s big!, Well I don’t expect less from a billionaire” she said , scanning around
He has up to ten exotic cars and most of it is white
Even the mansion is painted white
“Maybe white is his colour, he looks good in it anyways” she thought before ringing the doorbell
It was opened by one of the maids
“Emery” she said with a smile
She was let in and she smiled at the sight
“Boss is upstairs, first room… please take care of him, he won’t allow us to come near him or take him to the hospital” one of the maids said
” Hospital?, It’s that serious?” She asked
“Just go to him quick, please” the other one replied
She quickly rushed upstairs
By now, the time is some minutes to eight, it’s dark already
She opened the door to the first room and truly he’s lying on the bed weakly
“Boss!” She exclaimed, running to kneel beside him on his bed
He opened his eyes and smiled when he saw her
“You’re here” he said, feeling much happiness in the pit of his stomach
“You should have allowed the maids to take you to the hospital, have you eaten?, How exactly are you feeling?, You don’t look good at all, how can you let it get this worse” she said at once
Raymond smiled more
” Why does it feel good to hear you nag” he said
“Let’s get you something to eat first” she said
” I’m not hungry” he said
” Then let’s get you to the hospital” she said, feeling his temperature
“I don’t want to go to the hospital” he replied
“But your temperature is hot” she said
” I really hate the smell of hospitals” he said seriously, catching himself staring at her small lips
She took in the upper lip as usual, making his heart flutter with even that
“I’ll get a wet towel to place on your forehead” she said
” I don’t want that either” he replied again
” Then at least I’ll get you some medicine, Please” she said and tried to get off the bed
He held her hand immediately
She looked back at him
“Why?” She said
“Can you?… Be my medicine tonight?” He said emotionally
“What?” She asked confusedly
” Your presence here is the reason why I have the strength to talk, please don’t go anywhere” he said and immediately pulled her to himself on the bed
She landed on top of him with widened eyes, too shocked…
Their faces are just an inch away from each other
Her breathing became intense and she blinked like a doll continuously
“I’m sorry about what I’m about to do but… maybe I can’t help it anymore….” He said and covered the space between their faces
He covered her lips with his lips in a deep kiss
Emery hasn’t gotten over the first shock and now this?
Her eyes remained opened as she watched him devour her lips
She’s too shocked to kiss him back
“Boss” her heart screamed
Raymond bit her lower lip slightly and that made her open up, giving him access to her mouth
She found her eyes closing and her body embarrassing the kiss
Raymond sucked on her tongue desperately, balancing his hands on her hips
“Wait…” She thought, suddenly getting back to her senses
She broke the kiss forcefully then got up from the bed and ran out of the room…
