“It’s been two days and I haven’t seen Stephanie. Did something happen?” Ashton ask, his left hand in a sling while his right leg is in a cast.
He woke up a day ago and apart from his injuries everything else is fine but he has to stay in the hospital for a while.
“Talk to me Stanley” Ashton urge.
“Your grandfather told me not to tell you but since it has come to this, you need to know. On the day of your accident Sandy was here and she cause a scene”
“Did she talk to Stephanie?”
“She did. She even claim to be your wife but I told Stephanie that she is your ex” Stanley said quickly.
“Is that why Stephanie has been avoiding me?” Ashton ask softly.
“I think so”
“Fine, I get it if she doesn’t want to see me but I want to see my kids, tell her to bring them to me” Ashton said, feeling angry.
<< STEPHANIE APARTMENT >>
“Shouldn’t you go with them?” Susan ask as Stephanie buckle the belts of the triplets while Stanley put their bag in the car booth.
“I know they are in capable hands, they will be fine” Stephanie said smiling at her kids.
“You should come with them too. Ashton doesn’t say it but he also wants to see you” Stanley said.
“Tell him that I hope he gets well and please bring them back before six. I need to prepare them for bed” Stephanie said and went into the house.
Susan was about going too when Stanley stop her.
“Come along with us” he said
“Why should I?”
“Cause have missed you” Stanley said.
“You just don’t get do you. I told….”
“No! Let’s not say something negative to each other after being apart for days, I beg you” Stanley said softly and Susan keep shut.
“But we can say something positive like I want you to stay over at my house tonight”
“You are crazy” Susan said, blushing.
“Crazy for you”
“If you don’t leave now Stanley, I’m going to break your nose” Susan threaten.
“Fine, I am going but do keep this in mind that someday you will be spending the night at my place” He said, giving her a wink before getting into the car.
Susan fan her face with her hand, wondering why she feels hot.

While Susan and David busied themself with a movie in the sitting room.
Stephanie stayed in her study trying to think of new lyrics but Ashton keeps popping into her head.
Ever since her confrontation with Sandy, she has been doing her best to stay out of Ashton way.
She might have behaved like a tigress in front of Sandy but she’s nothing more than a prey when it comes to her family.
She won’t let a psycho hurt anyone of her family just because of a man.
If it’s Ashton she wants then Stephanie is willing to let him go.
The ringing of Stephanie phone got her out of her thoughts.
“Mommy”
“What’s wrong Faye?” Stephanie ask, sitting up.
“It’s Fiona, her heart is acting up again” Faye said.
“But she was perfectly fine just now! I’m coming, give the phone to uncle Stanley” Stephanie said, leaving the study.
Half an hour later, she got to the hospital and went straight to the vip floor where Ashton ward is.
She found his room and went in not bothering to knock.
“Fiona! Mommy is here” Stephanie said, running into the room.
“So it takes only a lie to get you to come see me?” Ashton ask, watching her with keen eyes.
“Where are the kids? Where is Fiona?”
“Fiona is fine and they went off to get ice cream with Stanley. I made them lure you here by lying to you” Ashton reveal.
“Why did you do that? Do you know how scared and worried I was when Faye called!” She yell at him.
“I’m sorry for the lie but I don’t regret what I did since it made you come see me”
“You are avoiding me because of Sandy, right?” Ashton ask as Stephanie turn to leave.
“What do you think?” She ask in return, folding her hand against her chest.
“Can you come close” he said softly.
“Why do I have to?”
“Cause my arm hurt, just get over here” he said and seeing the discomfort in his eyes, she went to him.
But she should have known it’s just a ploy cause as soon as she got to him, he held her waist with his one good arm and made her seat on his laps minding the leg with the cast on it.
“Ashton you….”
“Just seat still'” he said, wincing in pain.
“Sandy means nothing to me. We ended whatever it is between us years ago. You are the only one in my life and so, do not let whatever Sandy said ruin our relationship” He said softly.
“But she’s adamant. She wants you back and….”
“And I don’t! Once I get discharge, I will speak to her and tell her to get lost. Is that okay with you?” Ashton ask.
“Okay ” Stephanie said, softening to his demand.
“I will be discharged soon and I won’t be able to use my hand and leg for a while. Can you help me?” Ashton ask.
“How do you want me to help you?”
“By moving in with me. Come live with me in my apartment with the kids, I need you now more than ever” he said waiting for her response…..
