“Did you hear? Gray and Alex are the hidden heirs of Orbit and Famoux, I was shocked when I found out earlier!” Demi said.
“Me too, but we should have noticed. Chambers and Harper… we’re so dumb” Ava shook her head.
“It’s not our fault, their faces has not been been revealed to the public anyways, and I can already imagine how crazy everyone will go if the revelation finally happens” Demi said excitedly.
“I know, right?” Ava replied, and her eyes caught Grayson who’s currently talking with his father.
Yolanda is with them too, looking at Grayson maliciously.
“Heard she hates him madly, cos she has always been jealous of him” Demi said beside her.
“Is that why she sent the Sylvester guy to my house to mess with the lights? To provoke him?” Ava muttered.
“What are you talking about?” Demi asked confusedly.
“Days ago, on that rainy night, Sèxtus’s deputy came to my house and toyed with the lights. I had a breakdown cos of my nyctophobia and I think I’d have fallen sick if not for Gray” Ava replied.
“What! Why didn’t you tell anyone?” Demi gasped.
“I never wanted to worry you guys, and besides… Gray made Sylvester pay already” Ava replied.
“But why would Yolanda mess with you just to provoke Gray? You’re not Gray’s girlfriend” Demi said, and Ava looked at Grayson’s direction again.
This time, their eyes met and he winked at her, drinking from his cup as he did with the other hand in his pocket.
She quickly looked away, smiling secretly.
“Wait… Monica is here too?” Demi said, and Ava faced that direction.
Monica is busy glaring at them beside Grandpa Joe, and even when they caught her glaring, she didn’t stop.
“Darn, her eyes gives me the creeps” Demi muttered, turning away from her.
Ava kept staring, and Monica suddenly smiled crazily, curving her lips as she did
“She’s mad” Ava muttered, turning away from her.
This time, she saw Alex standing not far away, staring so hard at her.
Immediately she caught him, he looked away, turning his back. She bit her lip.
“Who do you think is winning the contract though? It’s a tie between Famoux and Orbit… I’m supporting Orbit though, Alex” Demi said.
“I dunno, I just wish Octavia is here” Ava replied.
“Me too” Demi pouted.
“Demi!” Mr. Lovato appeared.
“Dad?” She faced him, and the man gave Ava a short glare before taking Demi’s hand.
“I have good news … Luciano is back” he said, and the smile on her face fell.
“What!”
“Here” Mrs. Lovato entered the hall, and Luciano appeared behind her with a big smile.
“Hey, it’s been a while baby” he said, and Demi shifted back.
“Hello everyone!” Mr. Rawlings finally spoke up from the center, and everyone else turned to him.
“To make it fast, both Famoux and Orbit are worth my partnership, and that is why this is one of the most difficult decisions I’ll be making” he said tactfully.
Chairman Chambers is not smiling, and it’s same with Harper, both are too impatient to listen to the outcome.
Yolanda’s eyes suddenly settled on Ava, and a wild idea crept into her head.
She walked to her just when Mr. Rawlings was about to make the announcement.
“Hey, you look good” she smiled, holding her wine glass gingerly in front of herself.
“I was hoping you’d stay off my radar throughout tonight, I really don’t wanna get involved with you anymore, not after what you made me go through” Ava replied.
“I guess my little brother told you already” Yolanda smiled.
“You did it to provoke him, and it worked. He almost killed Sylvester, maybe I should have allowed him to kill him completely” Ava replied, and she almost didn’t believe that came from her.
Yolanda smiled amusingly.
“Wow! He’s starting to grow on you. You’re starting to talk like him and it’s impressive, now I see why he’s so obsessed with you” she said.
“Get your face away from mine” Ava glared.
“No. We’re just getting started” Yolanda smiled knowingly and looked at the center.
Her eyes met with Grayson’s, and when she confirmed he’s looking at her, she turned back to Ava and poured all the wine in her cup on her face.
“Ah!” Ava gasped as the wine wet her dress , trickling down her body.
All eyes turned to them, and Yolanda gasped
“Oh my gawd I’m so sorry! I’m very sorry Ava! Gosh! I should have been more careful!” She quickly said with a fake sorry look on her face.
“Ava!” Alex quickly rushed to the scene.
“I’m fine” Ava said.
He took off his suit and covered her with it.
“I’ll take her to the washroom” Yolanda said, but before her hand could touch Ava’s, Grayson already appeared.
Yolanda’s eyes widened as he grabbed her by the throat, and gasps filled the air.
“Oh no…not tonight” chairman Harper said shockingly.
Grayson was choking Yolanda real bad , and tears started coming out of her eyes, but this is exactly what she wants anyways.
For him to lose control so everyone will see the monster he is…. even if it means they’d lose the contract.
Monica’s eyes stayed on Gray, analysing everything. His eyes are definitely eyes of an obsessed dude, is he really not sky? Or is he?
Chairman Chambers smiled, definitely the contract is coming to him.
Alex was blank as he held Ava in place, and Ava herself is watching shockingly.
Grayson threw Yolanda at a chair, his red furious orbs glittering under the chandelier lights
Yolanda crashed on the chair and went down, falling brutally and hurting her elbows.
She screamed out in pains.
“Someone stop him!!! Make him stop!!!” Mr. Rawlings shouted.
Ava made to leave Alex, but he held her hand.
She released herself anyways, and his palm felt hollow immediately she left him and went to Gray.
Gray was about to grab Yolanda again when she held him by the arms, and their eyes met.
“It’s ok, let it go”I’ll she said, and his brows thickened.
“I’ll give you my name to say anytime you feel this darkness” she whispered, and he sucked in a breath.
“Ava” he called, and she smiled.
“Good job. You’re Grayson, you’re not a monster” she said and stroked his face shortly .
She was still at it when she engulfed her in his arms completely, hugging her tight.
“Ava” he whispered.
“I’m here” she replied, patting him gently.
Camera lights started flashing on them, and Yolanda kept sitting on the floor with no one to help her up.
“Princess” Gray called again, tightening the hug.
“I’m here” she replied, and he smiled warmly.
Alex gritted his jaws as he remembered what Gray whispered to him earlier.
“I AND AVA HAVE A DEEP CONNECTION YOU CAN NEVER BREAK, I DARE YOU”
He looked at them once again before walking out of the hall angrily.
