The atmosphere at the castle stayed stiff as it always is when Thiago arrived at exactly 4pm, but something is different though.
The smell of prawn crackers filled the castle, right from the entrance.
His guards stopped at the ground floor, and his personal guard joined him, escorting him into the elevator.
“What’s with the smell?” He questioned.
“Austin and Livia are back” the man replied, and Thiago’s forehead rumpled to a frown.
“I made it clear that they have to stay in France no matter what…what are they doing here in New York?”
“They came suddenly, boss. None of the guards at France even knew when they booked a flight” the guard replied.
The elevator stopped at the penthouse, and Thiago stepped out, walking straight into the living room.
A really hot dude is on the couch, tapping away on his phone…he’s not even aware that someone came in.
A bowl of prawn crackers is sitting beside him on the couch which he’s eating from.
Also, an intimidating looking girl came downstairs, and a small smile fell on her lips.

Her voice made the guy stand, smiling widely.

“France is boring, and also… we’re on break in school yunno?” The guy(Austin) shrugged.
“He said it all” the girl (Livia)” added nonchalantly, and Thiago sighed.
They’re his adopted kids, both are 20.
He adopted them since they were 12, and they’ve been addressing him as their dad since then.
Thiago started going upstairs without another word.
“What about the woman you were looking for? Your one nightstand?” Austin asked, and he stopped.
“If she really had a child for you, it means she’s a year younger than us right now. She better be a girl, I can’t stand another Austin” Livia rolled eyes.
“Soon” Thiago simply said and finally left.
“What do you mean you can’t stand another Austin? You’re the one who needs to work on yourself duhh” Austin gave her two middle fingers.
She made blank uninterested faces before entering the kitchen.

“You mean to tell me that girl will continue being in the band after what happened today again? Fûck! Kenzie is literally everywhere for her and it’s like she used something on him. He won’t even look at you or reply your texts, and my own Cole is still missing!” Katherine complained in tears.
“Stop the tears, it’s embarrassing ” Amber replied, pacing around the living room.
“I don’t care Amber. What’s the use of the information Penny sold to you anyways? It’s all useless cos no matter what you do, Kenzie is like her shadow” Katherine retorted.
“I said calm down! We only have to wait for the right time ok? You think I’m happy with her existence? So far I have Penny on my side, I can easily destroy her without moving a finger” Amber replied.
“How?” Katherine sniffled, and before Amber could reply, her phone rang.
It’s a new line.
“Hello?” She picked, and immediately she heard the voice, her eyes widened.

TORRANCE ESTATE, 6PM*
It’s been work on work since Hazel came back with Kenzie at 2.
She met Maria hand-washing some clothes at the rooftop, and she had to join her immediately.
They moved to the kitchen after that, and they’ve been there since then.
She hasn’t even been able to check her phone, and again, she kept what happened between her and Kenzie today to herself.
She doesn’t keep things from her mum, but how would it sound to tell her she got eaten out and touched sèxually by Kenzie, the popular douchebag.
She can’t, till she figures out if she’s not just one of his toys.
“You can go rest, baby. I’ll take care of the rest” Maria suddenly told her.
“Are you sure?” Hazel asked, and Maria kissed her head top.

Hazel removed her apron and gloves and stepped out of the kitchen.
She unintentionally bumped into Anna who’s just coming in, and her eyes widened.

“Yunno maybe I should start punishing you and your mother for every mistake, then you’ll learn. You’re not allowed to eat from the kitchen tonight, you can starve to bed!” Anna said, and Maria rushed out of the kitchen.

“You don’t talk when I’m talking!” Anna glared, and Maria went on her knees.
“Mum” Hazel mumbled.
“Are you too big to kneel?” Anna glared.
“Hazel…” Maria pulled her, and Hazel went on her knees reluctantly too.
“Mum?” Lee came downstairs with a frown.
“Bunch of idiots!” Anna rolled eyes and went upstairs.
“Stand up, quick!” Lee quickly helped them up.
“She seems really mad” Maria said fearfully.
“I didn’t intentionally bump into her” Hazel muttered.
“Chill, I’ll talk to her” Lee said and rushed upstairs too.
Hazel finally left for the annex with a heavy heart.
Will things really change if she sees her father?
Even her mother doesn’t know him, but the only thing she told her about him was that he’s a really rich man.
Her phone was the first thing she took when she arrived at her room, and she sat on the bed.
She got a text from Kenzie already.
Kenzie: Dress up by 7, you’re going out with me tonight.
She typed a reply immediately.
Hazel: No. Give me a choice will you? I don’t feel like going out.
Immediately she dropped her phone, Penny came in.
“Hey!…” She stood.
“You lied to me. You said Kenzie hates you, but he came for you at the studio and even threw you his gun. When did we start keeping things from each other?” Penny said accusingly.

“Do you still remember back then when you and Maria were chased away from the shack you both used to live? I convinced my parents to take you in and you lived with us for a year… remember when Maria was sick? I took you out under the sun to beg for money just to treat her … I’ve done a lot for you and I don’t deserve this treatment” Penny started crying.

Before she could finish, Penny already walked out of the room.
“Penny!” She went after her, but she was already gone.
“Gawd” she covered her face with her palms frustratingly, but the clearing of throat made her turn.
Miguel is standing at the base of the rooftop stairs, looking sour as usual.
“Hey” Hazel said freely.
“Did you cook for Ken this morning?” He said, more of mockery than a question.
“Why?” She replied.
“Saltless food? And you think he has changed just because he ate it? Yunno what?” He came closer, and Hazel looked up at him.
“He vomited everything, I saw him” he said, and she gulped.
“Why are you telling me this?”
He scoffed scornfully.
“Don’t think you can change him, slut. He’ll always be Kenzie Torrance” he muttered to her face, and she nervously rubbed her palms together…
She went in without another word, and Miguel left with a scoff.
Hazel took her phone again when she got to her room, and she released a sigh, thinking about Miguel’s words.
“I’m not a slut” she muttered.

LORD STEEL’S EMPIRE*
Oddly, only Kenzie got invited to the empire tonight, and he got suspicious immediately.
He came alone anyways, and he’s currently walking the guarded rocky pavement which leads to Steel’s Den.
His phone chimed, and he retrieved it to see Hazel’s reply.
His brows did the dip as he read it.
He typed another text immediately.
Kenzie: Choices? Hazel…
Evergreen: You threw up the meal you ate in the morning, didn’t you?
He stopped walking immediately, gritting his jaws.
“Miguel” he muttered before replying her.
Kenzie: What else did Miguel tell you?
She read it and didn’t reply, so he typed again.
Kenzie: Tell me or I promise to break into your room and give you a befitting punishment tonight.
Still no reply.
Kenzie: Leaving me on read is dangerous, sweetheart.
He’s walking as he typed, and right now he’s already at the door of Lord Steel’s Den.
Lord Steel sat poised on his throne-like chair, watching him keenly with five guards around him.
Kenzie didn’t look up from his phone as he typed and walked.
Kenzie: What are you fuçking doing, Hazel? Don’t tempt out my demons.
And then she replied…

He came to an halt again, understanding immediately.
“Miguel” he muttered for the second time, then without even looking at Lord Steel, he turned around and started walking out.
“Stop right there, Captain!” Steel stood.
“Our talk can wait, not tonight” Kenzie replied, going on with his walk.
“You spared the girl at the initiation! It’s against the rules and you know it! You can’t always have your way as the leader of the gang, I’m still your boss!” Steel roared, and Kenzie turned back to him.
Steel was huffing in fury as he walked back to him, and he didn’t stop till he got to his chair, standing face-to-face with him before speaking…
“Yes. I spared her, and you dare not touch her” he muttered confidently, his brows dipping.
Steel’s shoulders stiffened, and he narrowed his eyes.
“I dare not what?”
“You. Dare. Not. Touch. Her!” Kenzie slammed.
