๐ซ Cacophonous Melody Episode Four: ๐
Tracy finished with her morning shores and sat down to read an eBook she just acquired, to keep herself busy, and to take her mind off the torments she had been facing.
Her tears duct continued to send out tears, as she looked at the eBook, trying to concentrate, but her mind kept going back to the memories she had created with Bruce.
โWhy did I let my heart stray this far? How could I have imagined that I could suddenly turn to a Cinderella, get a Knight in shiny armour in Bruce, and live happily forever after?
โHow could I have just imagined that because I met Bruce and he assured me of his unwavering love for me, that I could live happily like every other young girl of my age?โ she thought painfully, recalling that she already asked Bruce to stay away from her, and he had agreed with her so easily.
โForget it Tracy, you have done the best thing by asking Bruce to move on. He doesn't deserve all the drama that will certainly come with being with someone like meโ she tried to convince herself, but the tears refused to stop flowing.
She was still shedding those silent tears and soliloquizing, when a car pulled up in front of her father's house.
Bruce got out of the car and walked straight to her sides with the intent of scolding her harshly for daring to imagine staying away from him, but when he got close enough to speak, he found her totally lost and completely worn out.
His heart lurched in pร ins as he stood watching the girl he has grown to love so much, looking nothing but a shadow of herself.
She was so deep in thought that even though he had already walked up to her sides, she remained motionless; just gazing at her phone as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Bruce picked the phone out of her hands, making her look up in shock, and jolted out of her daze.
โBruce? What are you doing here?โ she asked in a shaky voice, her words laced with pains and anguish.
โI'm here to wipe these tears off your face, and to make you see how selfรฎsh it was for you to have considered just yourself before you decided to call it quits with me.
โWhat happened to ‘never leave me alone'? Where goes all the love you promised and the unending flow of love?
โYou said that our love will be like a fountain of water that never runs dry. How could you just assume the water will suddenly dry off just because a mild breeze, blew over it?
โHow can you make such a decision without considering my position and my welfare?โ he asked her, holding her hands and trying to make her look him in the eyes.
โBruce, you know this isn't about me but about you. You have to know that all I'm trying to do, is to shield you from whatever it is that is tormรจnting me this way.
โI am hurt, and the thoughts of having to stay away from you forever is already keeping me in an indescribable degree of anguish, but I can't do otherwise.
โI can't let us keep hoping that everything will be alright and we can live happily forever after just because we love each other, because it is simply not feasible.
โBruce, I am letting you go, not because I'm not hurting from thinking of what my life will be when you go, but because I love you too much to watch you stand besides me, and watch me in this miseryโ she told Bruce.
โYou're mistaken Tracy. This love affair isn't between you and you. It is between you and I. So I reserve the right to also have a say in what happens to us.
โFor God's sakes Tracy, how can you say you're concerned about my welfare when you're ripping my heart out of it's cage with the pains that keep tugging at it, each time the thought of being unable to hold your hands and the imagination that someone will ever have to stand by my sides crosses my heart?
โHow can you be helping me by pushing me into so much pain and anguish that will eventually make me lose my mind?
โI love you Tracy, and I wasn't joking when I said I'll go to the ends of the Earth for you, neither was I playing when I said I'll face a thousand demรดns for your sake.
โIf you can tell me what it is, we can sort this out, and yes Tracy, we will come out of this victoriously if we stick togetherโ he told her, holding her hand still.
Tracy pulled her hands from his and made to walk away from him, but he pulled her back.
โPlease Tracy, don't do this to us. You know like hรชll that I can't stay without you.
โJust tell me what I have to do, and I'll be too willing to oblige youโ he begged her.
โBut that's the problem Bruce, I don't know what to do! I have no idea what has to be done about all that I'm going through, because I don't even know what's going on.
โI only get to hear a voice every night, compelling me to sing along with it.
โThe voice always has the eeriness that makes my hair stand on my nape, but even though the voice keeps me awake all night, most times, I have never had to see who is behind that voice.
โThe lyrics of the songs it always made me sing always left me wondering what connection I must have with the spirit because it always seemed to pass a message with each song
.
โLast night, I was frustrร ted and wanted it to do whatever it willed to do.
โSo I looked, and Bruce, you don't really want me to describe what I saw, and how a seemingly beautiful girl's face kept getting distorted, changing and alternating to different monstรจr-like beings, until her head began to roll on the floor, while she chased after it.
โBruce, please do as I say. I can't allow you stay by my sides and face this troubled spirit. I don't know why it is after me, and I can't tell what will happen if you stay onโ she told him.
โWell, maybe this is beyond what I imagined it could be, but it still isn't enough to make me choose to be away from you.
โSo Tracy, you can allow me, and you will allow me stay with you!โ Bruce insisted, pulling Tracy really close to himself.
Tracy tried to resist him, but while her head told her to push him away, her hands were wrapping around his shoulder, and her head was resting on his broad chest, with his powerful arms wrapped around her like the Great Walls of China.
โBut Bruceโฆ.โ She began, but he cut her short, placing his fore finger on her lips.
โShhhhh! Don't say a word, just listen to what our hearts are saying to it's each other.
โCan you hear it? Can you feel it? Tracy, I know it must be scary having to face the monstรจr that trรฒubles you every night.
โAnd that's why I won't ever let you go, because I know you shouldn't be facing it all alone.
โWe can do this Tracy, all we need is the will to do it together. Trust me baby, we will overcomeโ he assured her.
The two love birds ended up making up that afternoon, and by the time Tracy's mother returned, Bruce had already convinced Tracy to travel with him to the city.
โBruce, I must commend you for your decision to stand by my daughter, but I'm afraid it won't be a good idea to have her go to the city with you when we haven't found a solution to the problems at handโ Tracy's mum told Bruce.
โIts okay mummy. Tracy has told me everything, and that's why I think she needs a change of environmentโ Bruce told Mrs. Scot
โI don't know what she must have told you, but this is beyond a voice singing at night.
โShe was meant to have done what was required of her since the very first day she entered puberty, but I was trying to see how I could work around it, but in the end, she still has to go to Ozonge shrine, just like my mother, my mother's mother, and every female in my lineage have always had to do.
โI left the house since morning to see if here was a way to keep her from going to the shrine, but it's inevitable, she has to go!
โAnd Bruce, she has to go tomorrow because everything has been settled and planned for her to be there tomorrow.
โHopefully, when she returns from the shrine, everything would have returned to being okayโ she told Bruce.
Bruce had his concerns and things he wanted to say, but he could see that Tracy didn't want him to say anything further, so he nodded in agreement with Tracy's mother, and waited for her to leave before he began to discuss his next plans with Tracy.
โI'll have to go now Tracy, but be ready to return with me when next I come hereโ he told her and walked out of the house with her.
