“I’m sorry I’m late, I had to help Kelvin…” Jake was cut off when Julia suddenly flung her arms around him, hugging him tightly.
“I’m so glad you showed up!” She was so excited, she didn’t care if he pushes her away. He came meaning he cared even if it was a little and it meant so much to her.
Jake was taken back, he blinked his eyes lots of times before slowly pulling her away from his body.
“I’m sorry” Julia smiled and arranged her hair backwards. “I thought I would fail my project because I thought you wouldn’t show up” She said with a happy smile.
“For the record, I don’t fancy failure so I’m here” Jake rolled his eyes but Julia didn’t mind, she grabbed his hands to pull him towards a chair but he immediately pulled himself back.
Julia rolled her eyes. “I’m not a monster you know, I don’t bite or maybe you can’t stand me because you’re in love with me” Julia suddenly moved her face closer to his, looking straight into his eyes.
Jake was a bit stunned with how close she was but he didn’t move, he stared right back at her, staring deeply into her eyes as equal as she stared at him. He looked at her like he wants to search deep into her soul, figuring what is up with this girl before him.
How can someone he wish to stay away from make him so curious each seconds, it’s like he wants to get to know her more and still push her away. He wants to yell at her to fuck off his sight but at the same time for some weird reason, he wants her close to him.
Jake’s eyes traveled to her lips, pink soft wet and inviting. He shook whatever thought he had in his head and placed his forefinger on her forehead, pushing her back.
“You really do love to get your hopes high don’t you?” He scoffed as he went to take a sit.
Julia smiled and sat opposite him. “So where do we start from?”
Jake stared at her weirdly. Why was she being all smiles with him after how he treated her the other day, he called her mean things and he’s surprised they are still partners.
He looked left and right, hoping he’s safe.
“What?” Julia smiled trying to find what he was looking for.
“Where is it?” He suddenly asked.
“Where’s what?” She creased her brows in confusion.
“The gun”
Julia burst out into laughter and Jake couldn’t help but stare at her face, she looked fully different when she smiles, like she don’t have any problems in the world. He shook his head from the thoughts and gave her a questioning look.
“Seriously Jake, why would I have a gun, you really should think of me as a human” She rolled her eyes and opened her bag then brought out her book.
“So I’m thinking of the poem theme to be about…”
“I don’t mean to cut you off but I already have one in mind, I even wrote a few about it” Jake opened his bag and passed his book to Julia.
Julia opened it and looked through it.
“What’s the theme? Sounds interesting” She said and Jake cleared his throat before responding.
“It’s about a guy that said a really mean thing to a girl and wish to apologize to her” He bit his lips after replying.
“That’s cool, let me read it” Julia cleared her throat to start reading but Jake was quick enough to take it from her.
“How about I read it and you listen” He said and Julia nodded.
Jake cleared his throat as he opened the poem then began reading and each time he reads, he looks at her to make sure her attention is on him.
“Words cut deep, like a knife in the night
I spoke in anger, without a fight
I lashed out at you, with a hurtful tone
And now my guilt, is a weight I can’t call my own
My conscience screams, with every passing day
Reminding me, of the pain I conveyed
I wish to take back, the hurt I’ve done
And apologize, for the damage I’ve begun
Please know that I, am truly sorry
For the pain I’ve caused, and the tears I’ve made you cry
I promise to be, more mindful of my words
And treat you with kindness, like a precious pearl.”
He finished reading and Julia was a bit emotional. The way he looked at her and read the poem felt like he was truly talking to her.
“That’s beautiful” Julia let out a low smile.
“Actually I… I wrote it for you” Jake confessed and Julia’s eyes widened a bit. “I’m truly sorry for calling you a slut that night, I just don’t know what came over me I…”
Jake was cut off again by Julia but this time it wasn’t a hug, it was a kiss on the lips, it was short, lasting for few seconds. Julia pulled away when Jake wasn’t reciprocating, he froze like as he was still trying to process what just happened.
Julia licked her lips and stepped back. “I did too much I know, I’m so…” She was also cut shut with Jake grabbed her by the neck and pulled her closer to him then slammed his lips back on hers, kissing her deeply.
Julia didn’t need to process anything instead she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back as their tongue intertwined. She tasted like strawberry and he taste like minty chocolate, they both couldn’t get enough of each other’s mouth as they pulled themselves closer as if they weren’t close enough.
It got to point where Jake lifted Julia and made her sit on the table while he stood in between her legs. His lips left hers and trailed down her jaw and neck.
Julia couldn’t control the shivers his tongue sent down her spine, she couldn’t stop the moan that escaped her lips which made Jake pulled back just to stare at her face. They were both out of breaths, Jake studied Julia’s look, her hair was mess so as her swollen lips as her pink glass had long fade off.
He leaned closer to her, wanting to kiss her again but his phone interrupted him, it was his mom calling. He stepped away from Julia to pick his calls while Julia was left alone, still trying to catch her breath.
There’s no way she and Jake just made out here. She licked her lips, it still taste like mint and she gasped realizing it was real, she just made out with Jake. Her heart was still beating, she don’t think she could ever recover.
Jake came back in few minutes time and things began to feel awkward. He cleared his throat and picked up his bag to leave.
“Where are you going?” Julia slowly asked.
“I have to somewhere to be, we can talk about the poem tomorrow” He refused to make eye contact as he spoke before leaving hurriedly.
Julia blinked a few more times, no way Jake and her made out.
