𝘚𝘏𝘌’𝘚 𝘕𝘌𝘝𝘌𝘙 𝘎𝘖𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘛𝘖 𝘍𝘖𝘙𝘎𝘐𝘝𝘌 𝘔𝘌 𝘞𝘐𝘓𝘓 𝘚𝘏𝘌? I sigh, I’ve been asking myself this question since. I remembered our little moment in the kitchen, I saw her body stiffen when I stood close to her. I bet she still feels something and I honestly don’t blame her for trying to fight it.
I’d blame me too for the way I’ve treated her but I wish she can understand why I’m doing all these. She’s still so young, I might not be the person she wants and just like Jerry said, I’m still her childhood fantasy. Even thinking of this makes my chest burn so bad but I don’t want it to end this way, even if she won’t forgive me, I don’t want her to hate me, I want to look after her and protect her even if we can’t be together.
I went to the living room where she’s watching TV. It’s what she has been doing since mom grounded her and Taylor but their time would soon be over because two weeks is fast approaching. I wonder why she didn’t go to work today now it’s the both of us in here.
I took a breath in, ready to do this as I moved to occupy the empty space beside her and the way she jumped to rise, quicker than a bouncing ball.
“Why are you sitting here?” She asks and a smirk formed my face.
“Sitting down” I replied, arching one of my brows.
“Why here? There are other chairs around!” She looked around the chairs as she spoke.
I damn know that but I’m trying build a little relationship that might have been lost so I replied. “It’s my house, I can sit whatever I want”
She went quiet for a while before scoffing. “I might as well move out tomorrow, so you can have your stupid house and coach to yourself!” After saying that, she began matching out.
I know she might not mean it but something stung my chest with the thought that she’d leave. It’s something I can’t escape. Her stay here isn’t temporary, she’d have to leave soon to move on with her life, go to school and all and I know I’m selfish to say I don’t want her to leave.
I stood up and rushed to block her path before she could climb the stairs back to her room. “You shouldn’t let me stop you Dove, I just wanted us to be friends despite what happened last night. I don’t want you to hate me, look I still care about you very much and I push you away because I don’t want to hurt you” I don’t know why I’m explaining myself to her but I don’t want her to leave.
“Why are you telling me all these Derek?” She ask, her face looking tired.
“I just don’t want you to hate me”
“If you don’t want to hurt me like you said then why do you keep pushing me away?” She asks another question.
“Because you’re still so young Dove, you don’t know what you want yet. What if… What if I’m just one of your childhood fantasy and when you grow you find someone a lot more better then me” My throat burnt as I said that part.
She’s quiet for a while, she’s probably reasoning with what I’m saying.
“No one can ever be you Derek” Her voice was tiny, it’s like she was talking to herself but I heard her loud and clear.
I moved closer to her. “No one can ever be you too. I never thought I’d be crazy about a sixteen year old, I should be ashamed of myself but I don’t care” I took her hands and surprisingly she didn’t push me away.
“I want to treat you right Dove but I’m still learning how to treat myself right. You deserve the best and I’ll like to make it up with you for real this time. Let’s run away from this place together, just you and me, alone and free from all the pressure of this world” I proposed to her.
