The beautiful woman smiled wider, and colour drained off Zinnia’s face.
What the hell is happening? A ghost? A spirit?
Is she seeing things? She attended her burial with Aunt Vivian, though Vivian never allowed her to see the corpse.
She told her seeing her mother’s corpse might cause nightmares and affect her in her later years, but she’s very sure of her death, so why…

“No…. impossible” she shook her head, stepping back slowly.
Every single person in the room looks apprehensive.
Everyone is aware of her mother’s death, so the shock reached them too.
“Did dead bodies start waking? What am I witnessing?” Hardin muttered, and Malachi settled heavily on a couch.
Alice quickly sat beside him, smiling as she remembered what took place yesterday at the castle.
FLASHBACK*
The guards at the castle entrance strengthened their alertness when Vivian’s car pulled up right in front of it, and she came out boldly, walking with slow strides to them.
“I need to see the Overlord” she voiced.
“He made no mention of any visitation today, leave” their leader replied.
“Maybe if you tell him someone he’d like to see is here, he might change his mind” Vivian smiled.
The guards pointed their guns at her immediately….all of them.
“Leave the property!”
“Tell him Nica is here to see him!” Nica’s voice came from the car, and she stepped out too with the young boy, walking to Vivian.
The guards exchanged signals, and some of them went in to make inquiries.
Three minutes later, they rushed out.
“I’ll escort you” he told them, and they were led in.
The walk to the Den was fast, and they met Malachi seated like a mountain at his desk with Don Bennett in front of him.
They both stood in shock immediately the two women came in, and Malachi’s eyes fell on the little boy.
His eyes widened, and he rumpled his forehead.
“I understand your shock, you thought I was dead, didn’t you? You set the hospital on fire because you thought the child I was carrying was a girl, your child” Nica said straight, and Vivian faced her sharply.
“What are you saying, Nica?”
“This devil! He’s the father of Rigel” Nica replied, referring to the young boy with her.
“You had an affair with Malachi?” Vivian couldn’t close her mouth.
“Even before Gabriel started working for him as his son’s trainer….I met Malachi at a dark club where I worked as a bartender…He promised me paradise but what did he do? After I got pregnant and scan revealed the child to be a girl, he abandoned me. His hatred for females made him set the hospital on fire that day just to get rid of I and the baby, but I was luckily saved by your wife Aurora! She saved me before the hospital blew up!” Nica shouted at Malachi’s face.
Malachi folded his fists.
“I birthed my baby in shock, and I landed in comatose since then only to wake up last month. It was a boy yunno? A boy….the scan was wrong, he’s a boy!” Nica gently pushed Rigel forward, and the little boy looked up at Malachi’s face.
Malachi’s fist landed on the table, and Aurora came in.
“You….” He roared.
“You pretended not to know about it when I told you I was the mastermind behind Nica’s death. You betrayed me!”
“I couldn’t just sit still when I found out about your ploys. I know I’m just a sèx slave and a baby making machine to you, but I’m not heartless. You impregnated her then planned her death? You’re a beast hubby” Aurora shook her head.
“And now I’m hearing the news of your son’s relationship with my daughter? It can never work! My daughter will have nothing to do with this family!” Nica shouted.
“Nica you can’t do that…my son will lose it…don’t take away his only hope of redemption” Aurora started crying.
“Your Ladyship, I’m so sorry but I really really can’t take this. I had Rigel for Malachi, so allowing Malachi’s son for my daughter is precarious, it’s impossible” Nica shook her head, crying too.
“No one wants them together anyways” Alice said, coming in next.
“I was planning to kill her before, but you saved her by coming. Just take her and fly away from this country if you love her” she continued with a sly smile and looked over at little Rigel.
“Aww, aren’t you sooo cute? Little brother. Wait… Zinnia is my stepsister now, cool!” She laughed.
“I’ll take care of that. Killian’s relationship with Zinnia was never real” Malachi said.
“What are you talking about?” Aurora faced him.
“Soon enough” Malachi replied.

Zinnia was already shedding hot tears at the end of the revelation, and her face and eyes changed colour to red, snot coming out of her nose.
“Wha…. What are you all saying? I don’t… I don’t understand… Say it again so I can get it…. M… Mum you… You had a child for…. For Malachi?…. Make me understand… Make me understand!!!!!! ” She screamed, holding her head tight.
“Make me understand!!!!!!”
“Listen! Killian is literally your stepbrother, meaning you have to cut your relationship with him immediately! Rigel is the thread holding our family together since he’s the son of your mother and my father!” Alice shouted.
“You shut the fûck up Alice! ” Alyssa spranged up.
“You do not shout at me Alyssa! ” Alice fired back.
“I’m so sorry Zinnia” Aunt Vivian said pitifully, and Zinnia shook her head, shaking so much.
“This isn’t real!!!! This has to be unreal mum!!!!!!” She continued crying, and Alice smiled in relief.
“Mama Bear, I’m so…” Nica started crying too…
“Don’t call me that!!!!! How could you sleep with a man you met at the club? And of all men it had to be the Overlord? I’m so sick of it!!!!” Zinnia cried again, still holding her head.
Killian is right beside her, but ever heard of the feeling of being somewhere and also not being there at the same time?
That’s exactly what’s going on with him right now. He’s busy plotting how to decimate everyone in this room except Zinnia.
He wants to kidnap her and take her away from the claws and move her faraway with himself.
That’s the only way to settle this cos no fúcking body is ruining this.
No one is taking his little flower away from him, no one is taking his Zinnia away.
His jaws gritted, and his muscles started clenching.
Nothing is making sense in here, everybody is spewing garbage and it stinks!
He opened his mouth to talk, but that was when Zinnia ran out of the cottage.
He made to follow, but Hardin stopped him by the shoulder.
“I’ll handle it” he told him and ran after her
Killian faced Malachi instantly.
“What the fûck are you trying to pull? Is this your last resort?” He muttered.
“No. Actually my last resort is yet to come. We have a secret between us remember?” Malachi smiled knowingly, and Killian felt his head falling.
“Let her return, then we finish this” Malachi said.

KAREN’S PLACE*
Sitting on the couch with lollipop between her lips, Karen reminisced about her moment with Jordan on this same couch yesterday, and she started giggling.
She got her phone and went to his IG, but strangely, he posted nothing since hours ago.
“Strange” she muttered, going to Hardin’s.
Hardin posted nothing too. He literally updates his IG every hour, so it’s odd.
She went to Zade’s, and it’s empty too, but when she got to Killian’s page and saw a picture of him and Zinnia that he posted two hours ago, she screamed out and was even unaware of when she stood from the couch.
“OMG!!!!! Bam!” She gushed, jumping on her toes as she loved the picture and started typing a comment.

She dropped the comment, went to the girls group chat and was about to inform them when her doorbell rang, ruining it.
She quickly ran to open the door, and her eyes widened when she saw Ludo with her bags.
“Ludo?”
“I was chased out of the mansion, and my accounts are frozen. I have no penny on me and nowhere to go. I know I’m not worth it but please…. Can I stay the night? ” She asked.
“What did I just hear you say?” Sunny’s voice came, and they both turned to see her just entering the mansion with Priyanka.
“Stay the night? Where? In this mansion? You’re mad!” Priyanka sneered.
Ludo went on her knees, and their eyes widened.
